![]() Try to surround the Thors with Zerglings while focusing the Medivacs with Hydras/Queens. Ling Bane Hydra is ideal, but if Hydras are late Queen Ling Bane can work. You will see 3 Factories (1 Reactor, 2 Tech Lab) and a Reactor Starport. ![]() Many mech openings use this style of drop pressure. Spore in each mineral line at 4:40 if you didn’t start your lair in time Double Thor Drop 7:30 Start your lair 4:00-4:15 to have an overseer and queens for defending Make 4 extra Lings at 3:30 to be safe and have Queens at the front. With economic Hellion based Terran openings (often mech), it is common to attack with 4 Hellions at ~4:00. Use the Queens to target Medivacs and send the Zerglings in to attack the Marines when the Marines attack any structures, Drones or the Queens.Ĭan delay Baneling Nest to 5:15-5:30 to have 4 Banelings ready for the +1/+1 follow-up. Make 30 Zerglings so they are ready for the 5:00 timing Add the second evo later on.Ĭonstant Queen production (Goal is total 6 defensive Queens to target Medivacs) ![]() Start at least 1 evo early – 3:40-4:00 for carapace. Marines at the front/in the main and no other army (other than sometimes 1 Widow Mine) (Reactor building on Factory or attached to Starport) One standard follow-up is a +1/+1 attack that hits with 24-28 Marines and 4 Medivacs.ġ Reactor Barracks, 1 Tech Lab Barracks researching, 1 Factory, 1 Starport. The 2-1-1 is a timing attack that hits with 16 Stim Marines and 2 Medivacs. Therefore, these timings are the earliest they can happen when they are executed properly. Then you figure out what the failstates are, how does the build die/what does it not work against, does it have a transition in these states where you go to a different unit comp or have an entirely different idea like forcing a basetrade or extreme macro game.Note: these timings are referenced at the professional level, it is likely anyone on the ladder facing these builds will have them show up slightly later. What I think lends towards making new build orders is to simply not worry about these absolute specifics, what you really want to think of is what unit comp you are going towards and how/what you need to do to cut corners to get there as those are the things that will limit those build orders in specific matchups and on certain maps. Even further you could have queued the next worker and only had 10 minerals but the barracks is still late, thinking what goes down at what time and no later is more specific but much more difficult to conceptualize for most scenarios. See you can have a point where that build order is not specific enough when thinking in supply numbers, when placing the 16 barracks did you do it at 40 minerals or did you have 60 minerals in the bank, if you had more than 50 I feel your build order is inefficient, yet both could happen at the same supply. Really have no clue how the balance team doesn’t think outside of their little bubble.įor me it seems thinking in terms of build orders is the problem, or at least the colloquial idea of a build order for example 16 barracks 17 gas etc. You just can’t look at a piece of paper and follow it to the end game. So many of their units require specific micro and so many of the opponents timings require specific counters. Its extremely easy and can get you into GM simply by coping said build order. All you do is sit in your base most of the game and follow a build order. Watching Pro play there has been so many new Skytoss/Mech builds. Anything abusive instantly spreads across ladder and we’ve been seeing it destroy the Zerg population after last patch. Protoss and Terran players just watch a VOD, jot down exact build orders and follow them to a T. Sure, you can open hatch - gas - pool at a specific time but your’e ALWAYS going to be reacting to your opponent. How does this affect Zerg exactly? Zerg cannot follow build orders. Right now the game is quite stagnant build order wise with the only new build orders coming from high level Pro tournaments. It is how pretty much all of us have learned. Everyone that plays this game goes online and watches Pro players.
